Interested in joining the 150,000 people working in the fenestration, glass and glazing Industry in the UK?
The Fenestration, Glass and Glazing industry offers over 50 dedicated career paths with opportunities for progression in all. The industry has an annual turnover of over £4.6 billion and is pivotal to the UK economy.
Simply think about this – every building has windows, doors and glass in them, indeed if you look across the skyline of any major city centre you will see we are building almost exclusively in glass.
The industry has existed from as far back as medieval times, think about castles and cathedrals, they all had windows and doors using the materials available at the time, while today’s products are amongst the most technically advanced, thermally efficient and environmentally friendly ever. Indeed the products that the industry is producing today are playing a major role in helping to reduce fuel bills and carbon emissions, and at the same time offer the highest levels of security to give property owners peace of mind.
Many of the products are high-tech, innovative and market leading, and the opportunity is there for anybody who chooses to join the industry as their career of choice to work with them. The industry is dynamic and diverse, it truly represents the society we live in, and we are proud that it is truly a home for everybody no matter what their skills or their career ambitions.
Below you will find information about the careers paths available in the industry, details of industry relevant training, and information about the work Building Our Skills are doing in key sectors to bring new people to the industry.
